Fluke Up Dive

When people tell me they are going on vacation to Maui, I always recommend a handful of must do and see things to them. Going on a whale watch to see humpback whales up close is one of them. That is, if they are visiting when the humpback whales have arrived from Alaska. They are in Hawaii from November to April. Seeing whales breech, and even newborn calves breach, is my favorite whale behavior to see. I like the fluke up dives as well, but typically that means they won't resurface for quite a while. Up to 45 minutes.
